A Fresh Home for Your Church on PewPlan

A redesigned dashboard that shows your next Divine Service at a glance, clearer church search, an Organisation profile with your own church icon, and settings you can actually find.

Last time, we made it easier for people to find your church and join your team. This round of updates is about what everyone sees once they're in: a dashboard that tells you what's coming up, a profile that looks like your church, and settings that are simple to find.

A dashboard that shows what's next

Your dashboard has been redesigned from the ground up, for your phone on a Friday evening and for a big screen alike.

Each church you belong to now has its own card. At a glance you can see where it is, how many people are on the team, how many programmes you've built, and the date of your next Divine Service, along with whether that programme is still a draft, approved or pencilled down.

One tap on the card and you're straight into your programmes.

Find the right church, first time

Searching for a church to join now shows a little more to help you pick the right one: the town and postcode area, and how many people are already on the team. Your church's full address is never shown.

And if you search for a church you already belong to, PewPlan now says so, "You're a member", with a button to open it, instead of offering to send a request you don't need.

Make it look like your church

Owners have a new Organisation profile in Settings. From there you can:

  • Rename your organisation. Your existing links keep working.
  • Add your location. Your town and postcode area help people find you in search. If your church was set up before September, it won't have a location yet, so it's worth adding today.
  • Add a square church icon. On Pro, your own icon appears on dashboard cards, in search results and at the top of your programme list. It sits alongside the wide logo you already use on shared programmes and bulletins. Without one, your church's initial is shown instead.

Settings you can actually find

Settings used to be one long page. Now they're grouped into clear tiles: Organisation, People, Programmes, Content library, and Sharing & branding. Every tile keeps the name you already know, so nothing has moved out of reach.

Plan & billing has its own page too. It shows exactly how much of your plan you're using (programmes, editors, share links and storage) and, if you're trying Pro, how many days of your free trial are left.

Handing over, stepping back, or closing

People change roles, and churches change too. The Users page now makes this clear:

  • Transfer ownership. Hand your church to another member and stay on the team as an editor.
  • Leave organisation. Editors can now leave by themselves. Owners appoint a new owner first, so a church is never left without one.

And if a church really does need to close, for example after merging with another congregation, owners can request to close it from Settings. Nothing happens straight away. Your church keeps working until our team has reviewed the request, and you can cancel it until then. Once approved, the church is kept for 30 days in case of a mistake before its data is deleted, and everyone on the team is emailed at each step.

See what we emailed

Owners can now open Email activity in Settings to see which emails PewPlan has sent about your church: invitations, access requests and billing notices, who they went to, and whether they were delivered. It's a handy way to check that a new team member really did get their invite.

A fresh look outside, too

If you've visited pewplan.app recently, you'll have noticed our new homepage and a Features page that walks through everything PewPlan can do. Feel free to share it with anyone on your team who's still using a group chat and last year's bulletin.

Your programmes, team and share links are all exactly where you left them. We've just made the place they live a little more welcoming.
